Alessandro Villa
Alessandro Villa, Division of Oral Medicine and Dentistry at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard School of Dental Medicine, was selected to be a contributor to the 2020 Surgeon General’s Report on Oral Health in America on the topic of oral HPV.

Penn Dental Medicine Faculty and Residents
October 2019 – Faculty and residents in the Department of Oral Medicine participated in this year’s Duhring Conference, an annual gathering hosted by the Department of Dermatology at Penn Medicine, held in conjunction with the 2019 International Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Foundation (IPPF) Education Conference in Philadelphia. Dr. Thomas Sollecito delivered the keynote lecture for the Duhring Conference regarding dental considerations for patients with oral vesiculobullous diseases. In addition, Dr. Takako Tanaka and Dr. Eric Stoopler were invited speakers at the IPPF conference, which was attended by health care providers, patients and other individuals involved in the care of those affected by pemphigus and pemphigoid.

Lina Mejia
Lina Mejia, Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences at the College of Dental Medicine, Nova Southeastern University, has been approved for Fellowship in the International College of Dentists (ICD). She will receive this distinction in the ICD Ceremony on December 1, 2019, in New York City during the Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM).

Juan M Bugueno, Department of Diagnostic Sciences, School of Dentistry West Virginia University has been nominated to integrate the Prevention Committee of the 2021 -2025 West Virginia Cancer Plan.

Kentaro Ikeda
Kentaro Ikeda, Department of Diagnostic and Biological Sciences, School of Dental Medicine, University of Colorado was invited to give a talk at a joint conference of four organizations (Japanese Society of Oral Medicine, Japanese Society of Evidence and the Dental Professional, the Japanese Society of Oral Pathology and the Japanese Society of Oral Diagnosis) on September 23 in Tokyo. The talk was entitled “Drug-Induced Oral Complications”.
